How does Self-Service Work?
Follow our simple instructions in-store:
- Pick your pockets and load it into the washer
- Add laundry detergents (for Washers only)
- Tap your card on the card reader
- Choose your settings and press START
- Sit back and chill!
Do you have any laundromat house rules?
Flow Laundry is a public space and general common laundry sense applies.
Be mindful that you are in a shared space. Respect the space and your fellow launderers.
Do not leave clothes unattended in the washer/dryer upon completion. Set a timer if you need to run an errand or grab a coffee.
Please be gentle when opening and closing machine doors. Our industrial washers (Machines 6&7) have a turn-the-handle to lock mechanism.
Do not overload the machines. Rule of thumb is maximum 75% full for washers and 50% full for dryers. Loading the machines appropriately means a more effective wash/dry.
Add an appropriate dosage of laundry detergent (0.5 - 1 scoop max). Too much detergent can lead to residue on clothes. Sometimes less is more! Also check it's added to the right compartment.
Ensure that no sock is left behind! Check that you have emptied out the washer or dryer at the end of the cycle.
Do you have any Terms and Conditions?
By using Flow Laundry and our services you agree to our terms and conditions:
Use of our laundromat and its equipment is at your own risk. Please check your pockets, read care labels carefully and be mindful of others.
You are responsible for any and all damage caused by any items left in your laundry, bag/basket etc. that cause damage to the clothing of any customer, Flow Laundry's machinery, or any other property of Flow Laundry or its related parties or customers.
Please remove your items from washers/dryers upon completion. Unattended washing and drying may be removed from machines by staff or waiting customers.
We are not responsible for any lost or stolen property, damages and accidents that may occur in our laundromat.
Thank you for respecting our facilities and we hope you enjoy your experience with us!
How long are the wash and dry cycles?
Our washing cycles start from 24 minutes. Drying cycles are 30 minutes however speak to a member of our team if you require more.
Should I remain with my laundry at all times?
We encourage customers to stay with their laundry at all times particularly during unattended hours. Unattended laundry may be removed by other customers and staff.
Do you provide detergent or should I bring my own?
We all have our personal preferences so please feel free to bring your own detergents. However, we also provide our own laundry detergent free of charge for our self-service customers.
How often are the machines washed and sanitised?
Cleanliness and hygiene are at the centre of what we do. Our machines are cleaned regularly. Rinse water (not recycled) is dispensed at least twice in every wash cycle. Our team members also carry out routine sanitising and washes of machines if required.
How does the Drop Box and Lockers work?
Fill in the form provided at Flow, add the form to a bag along with your items and pop it into the Drop Box. We will attend to it the following business day. You may request that your completed laundry and/or drycleaning be left inside our lockers (assuming they fit!). We will text you the Locker Number and Code for collection between 6am-9pm. This option is only available to customers who have paid in advance.
Is there parking available?
There is plenty of parking available outside Flow Laundry along Smith Street and Nowranie Street in Summer Hill. 1P, 2P and all-day parking are available.
What if there's a problem with the machines or onsite facilities?
If there is a problem and we are not at the laundry contact us on flowlaundry.info@gmail.com or via our socials (Facebook/Instagram).
Why do I need a larger machine even though my items don’t weigh much?
If your load contains bulky items like doonas, quilts, blankets, heavy towels or bath mats, we might need to upsize. While your load might not weigh much, those bulky items require more space in the washer to get the cleanest washing experience.
